Q. Hello, nice to meet you professor, and thank you for participating in our Professor  section as the  first interview.  Please introduce yourself.

A: Firstly, thank you for introducing my career to our students. My name is Kim, Hyo-soo. Before, I became a professor at Kyung Hee University(KHU), I was a two-star general as a army

Q: You have had a very unique career in your life. After  retiring as a  general, you applied at KHU, didn't you?

A: Yes, at first, after retiring,  I read the newspaper one day which had an  an application handbook for a  Graduate School of Public Administration in KHU. I always wanted to learn something, and as  a result, I applied  and  was admitted.

Q: How did you study  public administration and do you have any stories?

A: Whenever the class  started, I always sat  down in the chair 15 minutes early,  I attended class in front of the professor; in other words, the first seat was  always mine. One day,   I arrived  15 minutes early as usual, but no one was there.  Suddenely, my professor told me,  "I am sorry General Kim,  I cannot teach today. I called you because I knew you would come to  class early unlike the  other students.  I really had studied hard.

Q: What was the topic of your doctoral dissertation?
A: My doctoral dissertation was about researching  Admiral Yi Sun-shin, who is famous and  great man in Korea. Before studying about him, I was also a high- status army like Yi, Sun-shin, which made me more interested in him.  Also, when I was a soldier, sometimes I had difficulty controlling my junior staff.  On all such occasions,  I always thought if I were Yi, Sun-shin, how he  would  I behave and overcome the  situation
