The Route campaign headquarters, the sole candidate in the 2026 Kyung Hee University (KHU) Global Campus General Student Association (GSA) by-election, was finally elected. The election successfully met the vote-counting requirement with a final voter turnout of 51.04%. As a result of the vote count, Route secured 4,174 affirmative votes (89.2%) out of 4,676 total votes, officially launching as the 58th GSA.
Fulfilling ER Requirements and Approval Rating
According to the Global Campus Election Rules (ER), vote counting can proceed only when more than 50% of the entire electorate participates in the voting. The GSA by-election, which crossed the threshold with a 51.04% turnout after the extended voting, immediately began the vote count. In accordance with the ER requirement that a single candidate must secure more than two-thirds of the valid affirmative votes, Route's election was finally approved by acquiring 4,174 affirmative votes, which accounts for approximately 89.2% of the 4,676 total votes.

Interview with Elected Candidates : "Prioritizing Communication and Firmly Executing Pledges"
The elected candidates who will lead the 58th GSA are Presidential Candidate Jung Jae-woo (Dept. of Postmodern Music) and Vice-presidential Candidate Park Seo-yeon (School of Global Communication).
Immediately after the election, President-elect Jung expressed his thoughts, stating, "I thank the Central Election Management Committee for conducting a transparent and fair election, and all the students who showed interest." He then showed a strong will to execute his plans, adding, "Since we were elected through a by-election, there is not much time left, but we will make sure to firmly proceed with the pledges we have made."
Vice-president-elect Park also revealed her aspirations, saying, "I sincerely thank the students who voted for us. We will become a GSA that strives to keep the pledges we made, one by one, over the course of the year." She emphasized, "As our main pledge is to create a university where the school and the students communicate, we will become a student association that prioritizes communication."
However, as a by-election held in March, the 58th GSA is stepping into its term later than usual—leaving less time than a full-term GSA would have. Attention in the student society is focused on whether Route can accelerate the fulfillment of their pledges based on active communication with the students, despite the shortened period.
