In university, now Prof. Chung, Jong-pil who is a professor in College of Political Science and Economics Department of Political Science of Kyung Hee University (KHU) sent different school life with other students when he was young. His almost university life was in America and China. Of course he was in Korea, too. But in Korea he earned money and learned other language for student exchange program and language study abroad to China and America. When he decided to go China for language study and travel, his Chinese language was not perfect but he left.

 He has been interested in China since he was young. So it was a simple trip, though, his first language study abroad was in China, before being established diplomatic ties with the country. The second one was in China, too. When he went there, he got private lessons for Chinese students and the rest of time traveled all day with borrowed bike and map. At that time, in China the only way he can communicate was by Chinese and he was not good at it and he was alone. But while travel he only carried a dictionary and a conversation book bravely.

 He was thinking of taking Master of Business Administration (MBA) or entering a law school before this abroad study. But through this travel he decided to be a Chinese expert. In short, he could know what he really likes and wants to be by travel.
Here is the first reason why he recommends traveling for KHU students. Going interesting place or also somewhere strange place can give you some time to think about each him or herself and let one person know what he or she likes and wants to do. It is a big chance that can shake or even change him or her pre-goal and dream new and interested goal based on new experience. That is to say, traveling can be a stepping stone of their real or new start.
 Furthermore he told, “While travel, traveler can feel him or her shortages. It can be stimulations for students which they saw or learned in another country. Eventually that is the reason why leaving to another country are some starting point for students to think about how much they are deficient. Actually going to unfamiliar space whether the inside or outside of the country can enrich student’s stock of information by seeing more of the world. It can also helpful for him to realize situations which are placed in.”

Lastly he advised to KHU students who are potential traveler. He wants students to use KHU’s program for going other country. Because there are so many good programs here for students, he has ever seen. But of course to join these programs, students need to show their second language skill, and basically English skill. And also these days we can communicate with one language, English, in almost every place. It is essential for students to learn and talk English.

 However this is not demand to get perfect English. It is convenient for students if they can talk in English well, but this is not talking about need of perfect English skill for travel. In traveling, main point and must-do-point is to go to an unfamiliar place, see people’s life in there, meet various people and learn new things. These are real important factors. Even if there is no perfect ready for trip now, that is not a problem to experience these things. He said to KHU students the last, “Don’t be scared, be brave and go away where you want to go.”
